The Open Meeting Statement.

The minutes of the July 17, 2002 regular meeting were approved as printed on motion by Dick Koeppen, seconded by Bev Kersten. ALL VOTING AYE.

The Financial Report and Special Accounts Report were approved as printed on motion by Judy Zeuske, seconded by Bev Kersten. ALL VOTING AYE.

The total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $29,242.85 were allowed for payment on motion by Judy Zeuske, seconded by Sandy Loberg. ALL VOTING AYE. The Librarian's Report was read, discussed and ordered filed.

Kathy Mitchell received bids for landscaping from America's Best Lawn Service, Green Magic, Inc., Northridge Landscape Service, and Sunset Lawn Care. She gave Board members a breakdown on bids for the lawn, bench area, flag area and pruning of shrubs by the building. The bids will be tabled. Sunset Lawn Care gave a bid for snow removal on the sidewalk in front of the building and side door of $5.00 per time. To fix the lawn properly the cost would be approximately $25,000.

On a motion by Dick Koeppen, and seconded by Sandy Loberg the Capital Improvement Plan for 2002 (revised) and 2003 (proposed) were approved. Added to the proposed 2003 Capital Improvement Plan are shelving for book stacks ($268.00 and $233.00) and two video/DVD racks ($2,425.00). ALL VOTING AYE.

Since one of the computers at the front desk has had a hard disk failure, Kathy will proceed with the order for six new computers included in the 2002 Capital Improvement Plan. Comparable quotes were received for new computers from OWLS for a group purchase and Micro Computer Systems in Clintonville. The quality of the quoted components will be investigated before the order is placed.
