Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees

February 20, 2002

The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was held on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Library, with Cathy Belliveau presiding.

The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Bev Kersten, Judy Zueske, Dick Koeppen, Jerald Schoenike, and Bernice Olk. Excused absent: Tom O'Toole.

The Open Meeting Statement.

The minutes of the January 16, 2002 regular meeting were approved as printed on motion Jerald Schoenike, seconded by Bev Kersten. ALL VOTING AYE.

The Financial Report and Special Accounts Report were approved as printed on motion by Dick Koeppen, seconded by Bernice Olk. ALL VOTING AYE.

The total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $54,496.21 were allowed for payment on motion by Judy Zueske, seconded by Bev Kersten. ALL VOTING AYE.

The Librarian's Report was read, discussed and ordered filed.

Kathy handed out a memo about city personnel use of the Internet and computers. It will also be given to the Library Staff.

The State Annual Report is due in February and will be sent to the state office.

President Cathy Belliveau signed the Statement Concerning Public Library System Effectiveness, indicating the Board's approval, before it is sent to the State.

The Clintonville Public Library Board discussed the Friends offer to sponsor and finance a public post card campaign to legislators regarding the State Budget Reform Bill.

The 2002 Clintonville Public Library Budget was discussed as related to possible cuts.

The Clintonville Public Library Board will participate, in a supportive capacity, with Marion Public Library along with OWLS Director Rick Krumwiede's efforts on crossover borrowing.

The Board worked as a group on the Clintonville Public Library Director's Performance Evaluation. Cathy Belliveau will meet with Kathy to give her the favorable results of the evaluation.

Monies in the Library Savings Account (Enrichment Programs) will be reduced to $3,000, the remainder to be invested for 2 years, on motion by Judy Zeuske, seconded by Bernice Olk. MOTION PASSED.

Rick Krumwiede will attend the April 19th Library Board meeting. The topic will be Goal Setting.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:21 p.m. on motion by Dick Koeppen, seconded by Judy Zueske.
