Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees

July 16, 2003

The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was held on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at 4:03 p.m. at the Library, with Cathy Belliveau presiding.

The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Virginia Federwitz, Beverly Kersten, Sandy Loberg, and Jerald Schoenike.
Excused absent: Tom O'Toole, Dick Koeppen

The Open Meeting Statement.

The minutes of the June 18, 2003 regular meeting were approved as printed on motion by, Jerald Schoenike, seconded by Virginia Federwitz. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

The Financial Report and Special Accounts Reports were approved as printed on motion by Sandy Loberg, seconded by Jerald Schoenike. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

The total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $22,813.45 were allowed for payment on motion by Virginia Federwitz, seconded by Sandy Loberg. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

The Librarian's Report was read, discussed and ordered filed.

Business:

Long Range Planning Committee Report. An open meeting and focus groups are being planned for the week of October 20, 2003. Individual interviews will also be held in October.
On August 13, 2003 a focus group of the Library Board of Trustees will be held from 3:00-4:00 P.M. Motion was made by Jerald Schoenike and seconded by Sandy Loberg. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

Children's Internet Protection Act. The library is not affected by the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling because no E-rate funding is used for Internet access or PC workstations.

Outagamie Waupaca Library System Board. Anyone interested in recommending a candidate, may do so. They would like to get someone from this area.

Salary Proposal for 2004. Salary schedules from various city libraries were compared with ours. It was suggested we start working with a 3% increase for 2004.

2004 Budget. We discussed possible ways that we could cut the budget in 2004.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m. on motion by Jerald Schoenike, seconded by Sandy Loberg. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
