Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees

November 19, 2003

The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 4:12 p.m. at the Library, with Cathy Belliveau presiding.

The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Virginia Federwitz, Tom O'Toole, and Jerald Schoenike.
Excused absent: Beverly Kersten, Dick Koeppen
Absent: Sandy Loberg
Others present: Kathy Mitchell

The Open Meeting Statement.

The minutes of the October 15, 2003 regular meeting were approved as corrected on motion by Jerald Schoenike, seconded by Tom O'Toole. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

The Financial Report and Special Accounts Reports were approved as printed on motion by Tom O'Toole, seconded by Virginia Federwitz. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

The total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $30,413.61 were allowed for payment on motion by Jerald Schoenike, seconded by Tom O'Toole. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

The Librarian's Report was read, discussed and ordered filed.

Business:

Wheelchair request from Librarian's Report. The use of the library's wheelchair was discussed. It was decided that it may be used by patrons in the parking lot going to and from the building.

2004 Library Hours. Hours for 2004 are as follows M-Th, 10-8; F, 10-6; S, 10-2. Closed on Saturdays in the summer. The motion to adopt these hours was made by Jerald Schoenike, seconded by Tom O'Toole. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

Personnel Handbook - Revise Sick Leave Policy. The City Personnel Handbook has been changed to include "significant other" as a member of an employee's immediate family. It was moved by Tom O'Toole to make this change for library employees. Seconded by Virginia Federwitz. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

2004 Budget. The Library Budget was not changed or discussed at the Finance Committee or Council meetings. Salaries may be changed pending council action. Unemployment for laid-off employees was discussed. The County budgets were passed so the Library will receive the amount listed in the budget from the counties.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:55 p.m. on motion by Virginia Federwitz, seconded by Jerald Schoenike. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
