Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
December 3, 2005
A special meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Cathy Belliveau at 9:05 a.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements.
The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Virginia Federwitz,
Ray Kasel, Beverly Kersten, and Jerald Schoenike.
Excused absent: Sandy Loberg, Tom O’Toole
Others present: Rick Krumwiede, Greta Thompson, and Kathy Mitchell
Long Range Planning .
Rick Krumwiede and Greta Thompson, from the Outagamie Waupaca Library System, led the Board in several exercises designed to identify goals and objectives for a long range plan for the library. The following goal areas were identified:
Business as usual
Technology – staff training, expand work stations, take advantage of the technology the library has.
Materials/Collection – develop policy, service to special populations, shrinking purchasing power, weeding
Youth Services – young adult area, programming
Funding – additional, alternative sources; planned giving, non-residential funding, open more hours, staff funding
Marketing/Promotion – public awareness of current services, attracting non-users, newsletter, utility bill enclosures
Future Planning
Rick and Greta with input from the director will draft a long range plan based on today’s discussion and the other steps in the planning process which began in 2002 for the Board to review at the regularly scheduled December 21 st meeting.
