Business:
A thank-you was received for the Friends of the Library’s float entry in the 150 th Anniversary Parade.
2006 Salaries and Budget .
All city departments have been asked to begin working on preliminary budgets
for next year. Guidelines included a proposed salary increase of 3% and a 3%-5%
increase in the overall budget. If increases of more than 3% are proposed, cuts
would need to be prioritized to bring the increase down to 3%. Proposal A will
be presented to the Finance Committee. The library would be able to restore the
hours that have been cut in the past under this proposal.
Meeting Room Policy.
The policy will remain in place as is now printed.
Library Anniversary .
Director Mitchell will approach the Friends of the Library to see if they would
be willing to coordinate a celebration. A suggestion was made to give a gift
basket to the person who checks out the 100,000 item this year.
Legislative Update
Director Mitchell discussed materials in our packets concerning the continuance
of the maintenance of effort, the Language Bill, and the Reform Bill, all supported
by the Wisconsin Library Association.
Moved by Kasel, seconded by O’Toole to adjourn at 4:42 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
