Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
May 18, 2005
The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Sandy Loberg at 4:08 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements. Cathy Belliveau arrived at 4:25 and took over as chair.
The following members responded to roll call: Virginia Federwitz, Ray Kasel,
Beverly Kersten, Sandy Loberg, and Tom O’Toole. Cathy Belliveau arrived
at 4:25.
Excused absent: Jerald Schoenike
Others present: Kathy Mitchell, Diane Raschke
No one for Citizen’s Forum.
Moved by Kersten, seconded by Kasel to approve the minutes of the April 20, 2005 regular meeting as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Kasel, seconded by Kersten to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by O’Toole, seconded by Kersten to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $25,688.84. Motion carried unanimously.
The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed.
Business:
Citizen’s Forum.
The forum is a chance for the public to speak at city meetings. The Library Board
will observe the forum to be consistent with other city meetings.
Summer Library Program Report.
Children’s Librarian Diane Raschke gave an overview of the summer reading
programs for children, teens, and adults.
Holiday Hours .
Moved by O’Toole, seconded by Kersten to keep holiday hours as printed.
Full-time employees will be given a floating holiday before the end of the year.
Motion carried unanimously.
OWLS Workshop .
Moved by Kersten, seconded by Loberg to allow the library to close until 2:00
pm. December 8 th so the staff can attend the morning session of an OWLS workshop
featuring Nancy Pearl. Motion carried unanimously.
Five Year Capital Plan .
The City Council has adopted the Five Year Capital Plan. Some changes were made.
Long Range Plan .
Various mission statements were discussed.
Clintonville’s 150th Birthday Celebration .
Sandy Loberg updated the Board on the upcoming events of the weeklong 150 th
birthday celebration.
Moved by Loberg, seconded by Kersten to adjourn at 5:20 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
