Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees

February 15 , 2006

The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Cathy Belliveau at 4:17 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements. 

The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Virginia Federwitz, Ray Kasel, and Beverly Kersten. 
Excused absent:  Tom O’Toole and Jerald Schoenike
Absent:  Sandy Loberg
Others present:  Kathy Mitchell

Citizen’s Forum: no citizens responded

Kersten moved, Kasel seconded to approve the minutes of the January 18, 2006 regular meeting as printed.  Motion carried unanimously.

Kasel moved, Kersten seconded to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed.  Motion carried unanimously.
 
Kasel moved, Kersten seconded to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $32,981.18.  Motion carried unanimously.
           
The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed. 

Business:

Bids on surplus copy machine
Two bids have been received.  Bids remain open to February 28th.  The higher bid will be taken unless a higher one is received by the 28th.

Friends of the Library Contributions
From October 2004 to October 2005 contributions from the Friends included: Performers $1,551.74, Publicity $804.54, Summer Program Prizes $771.16, Community Wide Read/F.O.L. Annual Meeting $171.11, and Miscellaneous $1,949.55.         

State Annual Report
Kersten moved, Kasel seconded to approve the State Annual Report.  Motion carried.

Statement Concerning Public Library System Effectiveness
Kasel moved, Kersten seconded that the Board indicate its approval that the library system provides effective leadership and adequately meets the needs of the library.  Motion carried. 

Local Annual Report
The local report will be published on bookmarks as in the past.

Website Address
Kasel moved, Kersten seconded to change the library’s website address to www.clintonvillelibrary.org at an annual cost of $80.  Motion carried.

Update on Automation System Migration
The library will be closed on February 20th for a training day.  If there is time, some rearranging and cleaning may be done.  A demonstration of the new online catalog will be presented at the March Board Meeting.

Legislative Update
Information was given on TABOR.
