Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
January 18, 2006
The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Jerald Schoenike at 4:12 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements. Cathy Belliveau took charge of the meeting at 4:20 p.m.
The following members responded to roll call: Virginia Federwitz, Ray Kasel, Bev Kersten, and Jerald Schoenike. Cathy Belliveau arrived at 4:20 p.m.

Citizen’s Forum: no citizens responded
Kasel moved, Schoenike seconded to approve the minutes of the December 21, 2005 regular meeting as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Kersten moved, Kasel seconded to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Kasel moved, Schoenike seconded to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $21,129.11 for January 2006 and additional December 2005 bills in the amount of $7,464.77. Motion carried unanimously.
The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed.
Business:
Handicapped Parking Space
The director will check to see if two spaces are needed in the lot. She can use her discretion in dealing with the matter.
Sick Leave – Retirement Benefit
Schoenike moved, Kersten seconded to realign sick leave- retirement benefit with the city policy. Motion carried.
Employees shall be allowed to convert unused accumulated sick leave for health insurance premiums as follows: 15 years of service - 85%; 20 years - 90%; and 25 years - 95%.
Old Copy Machine
The old Savin 9115 copy machine was declared surplus and will be advertised for sale for best offer or given to the Friends of the Library.
Copy Machine Cabinet
A gray metal cabinet has been ordered for next to the copy machine as the wooden book truck approved last month was not available.
Website Address
For $80/year the library could have a more user friendly address. Absent board members will be surveyed for their thoughts. The matter was tabled.
General Information Brochure
Suggestions were made to include the library’s mission statement and how to make donations to the trust. The number of computers should be deleted. The section on material available should be given stronger impact.
Legislative Update
A list of 2005-2006 legislative priorities for legislative actions from the Wisconsin Library Trustee Association News was shared.
Also shared were ten trends affecting the development of the next generation library from the Library Administrator’s Digest.
Kasel moved, Kersten seconded to adjourn at 5:10 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
