Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
July 19, 2006
The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Jerry Schoenike at 4:00 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements.
The following members responded to roll call: Virginia Federwitz, Ray Kasel, Beverly Kersten, Sandy Loberg, and Jerald Schoenike.
Excused absent: Cathy Belliveau and Tom O’Toole

Kersten moved, Kasel seconded to approve the minutes of the June 21, 2006 regular meeting as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Kasel moved, Kersten seconded to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Schoenike moved, Kasel seconded to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $24,372.63. Motion carried unanimously.
The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed.
The Author and Garden Open House will be held on July 25th at the library, not June 25th as stated in the Librarian’s Report.
The revised library brochure was distributed to each board member.

Correspondence
A thank you was written to Diane Raschke, Children’s Librarian, from the Public School Summer School Principal thanking her for doing story hours for summer school.
A thank you was received from the President of the Manawa Library Board thanking Kathy Mitchell, our Director, for the presentation of a check from the proceeds of the Desperate Librarians calendar.
A note was received from the Seymour librarian presenting the Board with the proceeds from the Desperate Librarians calendar.
Desperate Librarians Presentation
Lucie Erickson, Weyauwega, and Peg Burington, Waupaca along with Director Mitchell presented a $2,500 check to the Board. This money is from the proceeds of the sale of the Desperate Librarians calendar. Director Mitchell has earmarked the money for a child development book to be presented to the parents of newborns. In addition $800 from the calendar was designated to the Wisconsin Library Association Foundation and $600 to the Harrison County Library System in Biloxi, Mississippi.
City Facilities Committee
The City Facilities Committee toured the library on July 18. They had no questions or comments at this time.
Roof Repair
A tile is loose on the roof. Vande Hey Raleigh Roof Tile will make a service call to check the matter.
Staff Performance Appraisal
Kasel moved, Loberg seconded to adopt the new employee evaluation form as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
2007 Salaries and Budget
Department Heads have been directed to work on plans of 1.5% and 3% wage increases. There will be an increase in the Wisconsin Retirement Plan. Other benefits are not known at this time. The city is in the second year of a 2% freeze.
The OWLS Budget Requests for the counties will be down for Outagamie County ($14,107 to $11,182) but up slightly for Waupaca County ($97,653 to $97,918). These are just requests and have not been approved by either county.
The OWLS membership fee is up $1,066.
Legislative Update
Reform Bill #272 has been signed into law by Governor Doyle. Director Mitchell will check on the impact this will have on the library and OWLS.
