Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
Clintonville, Wisconsin
June 20, 2007
The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Cathy Belliveau at 4:05 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements.
The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Ray Kasel, , Sandy Loberg, Joan Paulson, and Jerald Schoenike.
Excused absent: Virginia Federwitz and Tom O’Toole
Others present: Kathy Mitchell
Sandy Loberg agreed to act as the Secretary.
Citizens Forum: No citizens present
Moved by Schoenike, seconded by Kasel to approve the minutes of the May 16, 2007 regular meeting as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Kasel, seconded by Schoenike to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Kasel, seconded by Loberg to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $38,856.86. Motion carried unanimously.
The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed.
Director Mitchell also reported that the Trust Fund Plaque inserts had been engraved and the handicapped parking space was remarked to make it van accessible. A new sign will be ordered. Tracy Yearwood is replacing Carol Johnson as Chair of the Friends Art Fair Committee this year.
BUSINESS
Welcome New Board Member
Welcomed Joan Paulson as a new Board member replacing Bev Kersten. An updated roster of the board and staff was handed out as well as updates to the Trustee Essentials Manual from the Department of Public Instruction.
Network Printer
$244.83 will be taken from capital funds which had been earmarked for a receipt printer for the JetDirect 300X box needed to repair the network printer.
Emergency Lights
Batteries are low in several emergency lights and need to be replaced. Krueger Sign and Electric was contacted about the cost of new batteries. They will be asked about the cost of replacing the entire emergency light fixture. A report will be given at the next meeting.
Public Access Computer (Internet) Policy
Policy changes were reviewed with the new changes in red. Moved by Kasel, seconded by Schoenike to accept the changes to the Public Access Computer Policy which will now be known as the Internet Policy. Copies of the policy are given to patrons using the computers. Parents need to come in and sign for children who are in sixth grade and up to use the Internet without a parent present.
Technology Plan
Changes provided in red and blue for approval. Moved by Loberg, seconded by Schoenike to accept the changes to the Technology Plan. An Acquisitions Module in the Millennium computer system is available from OWLS for tracking book and av orders. This may be of interest in the future.
Legislative Issues
Nothing to report at this time.
Tour of the Library
After the meeting is adjourned those board members who wish to stay will be given a tour of the library.
Moved by Kasel, seconded by Paulson to adjourn the meeting at 4:35 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
