Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
Clintonville, Wisconsin
December 18, 2008         

The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Jerald Schoenike at 4:11 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements.

 The following members responded to roll call:  Virginia Federwitz, Joan Paulson, Jeannie Schley, and Jerald Schoenike.  Excused absent were Cathy Belliveau and Ray Kasel.  Absent was Tom O’Toole.

Citizens Forum:  No citizens present

Moved by Paulson, seconded by Schley to approve the minutes of the November 20, 2008 regular meeting as printed.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Schley, seconded by Paulson to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Paulson, seconded by Schley to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $46,422.07.  Motion carried unanimously.

The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed.

BUSINESS
Employee Recognition
Meta Krueger was recognized for ten years of service to the library.  She was presented with a flower arrangement in appreciation for her service by Dr. Schoenike on behalf of the board.

Approve OWLS Membership Agreement
Paulson moved, Schley seconded to approve the proposed membership agreement between the library and the Outagamie Waupaca Library System.  Motion carried unanimously.  The proposed agreement runs through December 31, 2011, with a one-year automatic extension.

2008 Budget
Permission was granted at the November monthly meeting to submit additional bills for payment to the city from the 2008 budget as long as they do not go over the total amount budgeted for the library.  These bills would be approved at the January 2009 meeting.

2008 Capital Projects
The self check-out station has been ordered at a cost of $5,190.  Floor mats have been purchased for $1,181.26.  The capital fund has been completely spent for this year.

2009 Salaries and Budget
The final copy of the 2009 budget and salaries was presented.  The budget was passed at the November 20th special City Council meeting.  No further changes were made to the library budget.  The 3% raise for non-union employees was approved at the December 9th City Council meeting.  Both Waupaca and Outagamie Counties passed their budgets with the libraries funded as proposed.

Moved by Paulson, seconded by Schley to adjourn at 4:40 p.m.  Motion carried unanimously.
