Minutes of the Clintonville Public Library Board of Trustees
Clintonville, Wisconsin
November 20, 2008
The regular meeting of the Clintonville Library Board was called to order by Cathy Belliveau at 4:20 p.m. in accordance with Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws and ADA requirements.
The following members responded to roll call: Cathy Belliveau, Virginia Federwitz, Tom O’Toole, and Jerald Schoenike. Excused absent were Ray Kasel and Jeannie Schley. Absent was Joan Paulson.

Moved by Schoenike, seconded by O’Toole to approve the minutes of the October 16, 2008 regular meeting as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by O’Toole, seconded by Schoenike to approve the Financial Report and Special Accounts Report as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by O’Toole, seconded by Schoenike to approve the total expenses, including salaries, in the amount of $36,175.59. Motion carried unanimously.
The Librarian’s Report was discussed and ordered filed.
BUSINESS
CD Investment
The CD which came due on November 2, 2008 was reinvested at Fox Cities Credit Union at a rate of 3.05% for one year.
Senior Workers Program
Doris Ebert is considering the position as assistant library technician for twenty hours per week. If she takes the position, she would start on January 5th, 2009. The suggested donation for the library is a quarterly payment of $150. Schoenike moved, O’Toole seconded to accept the amended assistant library technician job description. Motion carried unanimously.
2008 Budget
O’Toole moved, Schoenike seconded to give permission to spend the remainder of the 2008 budget as needed. Motion carried unanimously.
2008 Capital Projects
Director Mitchell presented information on the cost of replacing and updating existing computers. Licensing for computers will cost $550.82 and replacing four computers will cost $3736. The self-checkout station, to be placed across from the checkout facing the desk, will vary in cost depending on the features put into the unit. Director Mitchell would like to make sure it is handicap-accessible.
2009 Salaries and Budget
Five Year Capital Plan
No changes were made to the operating budget at the November 11th City Council meeting. The public hearing will be November 20th. Changes may still be made to the budget following that hearing. There will be a special council meeting on that date to approve the budget.
The 2009 capital budget approved by the Finance Committee and sent to the City Council on November 11th did not include funds for either the air conditioner replacement or the microfilm reader/printer. The mayor commented at the Council meeting that if the air conditioner does fail, the matter will be brought back to them.
Moved by O’Toole, seconded by Schoenike to adjourn at 4:53 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
